Physical & Mental Health
Focus: Safety and security issues pertaining to the physical and mental health of students and staff.
Facilities
Focus: Safety and security issues relating to the physical buildings that the district operates including owned and leased facilities. The Facilities Team will be the lead on video surveillance and door access systems.
Transportation
Focus: Evacuate/ transport to other locations Safety and security issues that are unique to the transportation of students to and from schools and on school-related activities (e.g., field trips, athletic transportation, etc.)
Planning & Training
Focus: Safety and security issues pertaining to creating and exercising operations and response plans in age-appropriate manners for staff and students. This team will focus on identifying and/or creating scenarios for table-top and other exercise.
Policy & Legal
Focus: Developing and aligning policies to promote a safe and secure environment within schools, to ensure compliance with legal requirements, and to seek out opportunities to advocate with the legislature and community to advance efforts of safety and security in
Internal & External Communication
Focus: Improve the communication with parents and the broader community, between organizations, and within organizations during incidents and in pre-incident education.
Information Tech & Communication Systems
Focus: Enhance the ability of all parties to utilize technology to improve communication and data gathering before and during responses, both within and between organizations.
