The unthinkable becomes reality. No one ever suspected this student could ever do this. Well, some did…
Behavioral concerns that cross over into acts of violence, suicidal ideations, and other areas of concern for our students are on the rise for a variety of reasons. The need for a consistent approach to assessing potential threats and then knowing what to do to support the student and prevent potential harm to self and others is becoming increasingly important. Furthermore, there is a growing recognition that a community-based approach is vital to be truly effective.
The OASSN 2022 Fall Summit will focus on “Behavioral Threat Assessment & Management” and “Crisis Response Teams” and other community-based responses. The goal is to help schools identify students who may have warning signs and get them help before it is too late.
