….who’s in control?
At any given moment, school personnel may need to respond to an array of emergency incidents such as natural disasters, severe storms, large health-related outbreaks, active shooters, and other violent incidents. These events may occur in classrooms, stadiums, school busses, and other venues. Many incidents require the coordinated effort of the schools, local, state, and federal agencies partnering together to successfully respond. Reviews of past incidents recognize that, too often, schools are ill- prepared to respond to incidents in an efficient and coordinated manner. To address these needs, the 2019 Spring Summit will focus on the development and implementation of an Incident Command System (ICS) and supporting systems within each district/school and how the ICS extends if the incident grows.
Following the Summit is an optional lunch to facilitate informal networking among participants.
This event is closed to the public as it pertains to Safety and Security strategies in school. Registrations must be approved by event administrator before being considered final.
