Michael (Mike) Rohwer has 20+ years of senior IT leadership experience and currently serves as the Assistant Superintendent for the Division of Innovation, Technology, Information and Security with the Ottawa Area Intermediate School District (OAISD). Since joining the OAISD in 2006, he has been involved in co-leading and managing a full array of initiatives, collaborations, and services including the Michigan Educational Technology Leaders (METL), FOG-Net, and the OASSN. For his work with FOG-Net, he received Merit’s Award for Community Building in 2015.
Michael’s working through an online masters in information systems at the University of Maryland-Baltimore College. He also has an MA in Education (University of Iowa), an MTS in Systematic Theology (Grand Rapids Theological Seminary – Thesis: The Metaphysics of Virtual Reality Technologies), and a BS in Political Science (University of Iowa).
Jason has been with the OAISD since 2010. In that time he has developed and nurtured a variety of initiatives and programs across the Ottawa area. In his position as the Director of Innovation Services, he collaborates with various organizations (both internally and externally) to support the identification and development of innovative, educational solutions. He has an insatiable curiosity and loves to explore new and interesting ideas that will make learning more engaging and enriching.
Lyle Labardee is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Board Certified Coach with more than 25 years of crisis management experience. He specializes in the delivery of critical incident response services and is the founder and former CEO of the largest nationwide provider of EAP-based, on-site crisis response services for business and industry, Crisis Care Network; now R3 Continuum. He has provided crisis response training to hundreds of fellow practitioners and business leaders throughout the US.
While earning his undergraduate degree at the University of Dayton Mr. Labardee served in the Dayton Fire Department. As he continued his education, he also continued his first responder work as an emergency medical technician and firefighter in Erie, Pennsylvania. After graduate school, he served as an emergency services counselor at a local hospital and actively participated in helping the community during and after a series of F4 and F5 tornadoes swept through and devastated the area. 10 years of direct public safety experience gives him a deeper understanding of situations from a first responder’s view and the struggle to manage feelings of personal responsibility to family, the community, and the department.
His work with Crisis Care Network provided a wealth of experience in large-scale post incident management including 9/11 and the Columbine school shooting managing the response to hundreds of requests for service, providing counselors to the trauma sites, coordinating appointments and facilitating organizational and individual recovery.
Mr. Labardee is currently the Director of Behavioral Science for Diversified Protection and Investigation LLC. and co-founder and owner of Amplified Life Network, LLC where he specializes in clinical services and consulting to public safety professionals, business leaders and others presenting with work-related issues including traumatic stress, anxiety, depression, relational issues, and substance use. Mr. Labardee’s Amplified Life team also produces and distributes health and wellness content to organizations such as United Airlines, NASA and the FBI.
Scott Corbin is currently serving as the Director of Emergency Management and Homeland Security for Allegan County, Michigan. Previously Scott was with Putnam County, Ohio Office of Public Safety. Scott has served as a local Law Enforcement Officer for over 23 years. Scott has also served as a Sergeant in the United States Army Reserve for eight years as a Heavy Combat Engineer and Demolitions Expert.
Scott has an Associate’s degree in Law Enforcement from Owens Technical College and a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Organizational Management from Bluffton University. Scott currently holds many certifications which include the Professional Emergency Management Certification (PEM). Scott is currently attending the Master’s Program at the Naval Post Graduate School, in Monterey California.
Scott currently serves as the Michigan Emergency Management Association (MEMA) Legislative Liaison, 5th District Regional Homeland Security Board, and on Holland City Council representing Ward 5. Scott has recently served on the Kalamazoo Area Red Cross Board of Directors, as an elected official for Gunplain Township, Plainwell School Board, and two terms as President for MEMA.
Nick Bonstell serves as Ottawa County’s emergency management director. Before this, Bonstell served as the Zeeland fire chief since 2016 and has an extensive fire and hazardous materials background. He currently serves as a hazardous material instructor for the Michigan State Police and is a contracted hazardous material instructor for FEMA.
